Dominicans never assume you will know what the rules are. They also have a very unique way of expressing their views about what is or is not appropriate.
I guess it is good to know some of these things will simply not be tolerated...

"Swim Suits are Mandatory"
This is a public pool at a hotel. I have never really thought about it before but I am glad the management made it clear swim suits were mandatory.
I can only imagine the sign stemmed from some group who came and decided to use the pool without suits... they must have won an argument with the management because there was no sign... now we must all see this sign at the pool.
